Movie Review: Denzel Washington's 'Safe House' ? Bazaar Daily ...

Usually when someone says ?Safe House? it?s pretty safe to assume that you?d be safe in such a house right? well not exactly. In Denzel Washington?s brand new movie ?Safe House (emphasis on the not-so-safe house)? is the polar opposite of it?s title in it?s entirety.? Furthermore, we?re? just plain old fans of a good action movie that isn?t a raunchy chick flick

Hunky CIA agent Matt Weston (played by Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds)? quickly grows bored with his station in Cape Town, South Africa pretty much itching to get placed somewhere else that has a higher level of action for somebody who knowingly could kick your ass in 60 seconds or less

Tobin Frost (played by Denzel Washington) the? cool-as-ice rogue CIA operative whose vehemently spent the better? half of the last decade doing unspeakably treasonous things.? In the beginning, Frost is first seen cutting a deal for a mysterious microchip from an M16 agent (Liam Cunningham) who claimed that being in possession of said chip will make him the target of every person on the planet who knowingly owns a firearm.? Sure shit enough, Weston is immediately following the meeting getting shot at by people who wait.. for it.. ?have guns? and eventually finds himself morphing into a local consulate to be taken into the care of young Weston.

Considering Frost is played by Washington ? the impossibly charismatic and superior-ly manipulative,? the movie really hits action fans at this point.? Not even someone like, say, Robert Patrick, the freaking? T-1000 robot from Terminator 2 Judgement day? could rattle this old fellow.

Thriving on the nerve?s of those around him, Frost makes it known that he runs the show around there asking the questions and continuously pulling his? sometimes violent tricks that sure left Weston pretty darn nervous throughout the entire scene.

All together, Safe House is a slightly predictable sweet semi-action flick anyone could enjoy. Our only complaint was ? it definitely wasn?t? something we could?ve pictured Denzel starring in considering he?s usually jam-packed in an edge of your seat thriller or adrenaline rush.. kinda thing..

MOVIE GRADE:?? 3 1/2 STARS ?SETS? THE BAR FOR ACTION MOVIES IN 2012?
