Keeping Pets Safe After Hurricane Sandy - GalleyCat

As GalleyCat readers cope with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, we wanted to post some extra information for all the galley pets in the audience. Pet owners should follow the #SandyPets hashtag on Twitter for more resources.

Alley Cat Allies?posted this call for help rescuing cats in Atlantic City: ?we will likely need volunteers to assist with assessment and recovery. If you live in or near Atlantic City and want to help, please let us know. We also want to hear from people in other areas of the country who were affected by the storm or who are offering assistance to those in need. Please contact us at?info [at] alleycat [dot] org?or 240-482-1980, ext. 330.?

The ASPCA Twitter page reminded readers: ?Don?t let your pets drink from puddles, the flood waters may be toxic!? They also linked to a ASPCA page for helping pets after the hurricane. If you want to volunteer for animal rescue, you can email?Gina [dot] Manke [at]aspca.org!

They have created Hurricane Sandy Lost & Found Pets?page on Facebook to reunite lost pets with their owners. Below, we?ve included a Storify report from?Antonia Laterza about pets during the storm.
